16/4/26 Two in One Club - Perdiswell
Hi Everyone, I arrived at the venue almost an hour before we were due to start and everyone had finished their lunch and were already setting out seats eagerly anticipating our performance. We were soon set up and ready to play so we began early at 12:45. The moment we started playing, we had girls and boys up dancing, playing percussion and singing along. We followed up with a series of high energy songs which they delighted in. By the time we were nearing the end, we were thoroughly exhausted and glad of a bit of respite in playing Sweet Caroline.
A big thank you to the band who played magnificently, all 13 singing their hearts out for a very appreciative audience. Special thanks to John He for the twiddley bits. We always have a great time with the girls and boys at Two in One Club; they make us so welcome. £100 to WPCSG as well thanks to the lady with the banana in the video! She was very happy!

14/4/26 Northwick Grange Care Home
Hi all, Many thanks to the 10 Wuccies who travelled to play at Northwick Grange Care Home in Worcester this afternoon. I believe this was our second visit to Northwick Grange - the last one being for a Hawaiian-based Summer Party back in 2023. I was assured at the end that this won’t be our last visit: to paraphrase Arnie, “We’ll be back!”
We played and sang for just over an hour, and the audience clapped, rattled-and-shook and sang along with us. Just as we’d promised, there was nothing more up-to-date than Mamma Mia in our programme. Our rendition of Blue Suede Shoes got one lady resident up on her feet to partner her Zimmer frame in a spectacular dance. In short, everyone seemed to have a great time. I know I certainly enjoyed the afternoon! The raspberry sauce on the ice-cream cone is that the gig fee of £75.00 will be winging its way to our WPCSG fund in the near future.
Cheers Trevor

31/3/26 Welland House Care Home
Hi all, we saw March out in glorious style with another visit to Welland House Care Home, where we met up with our old friends and also made some new ones. The welcome was as warm as ever; the audience was as appreciative as ever, and the joining-in was as excellent as ever. New to this visit was the rousing cry of “YAHOO!” at the end of every song. We all sang together for an hour, covering our classics; but there was, of course, only one possible finale: resident Gary’s solo performance of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” - which brought the house down.
Many thanks to Bev, Frank, Jackie, Joy, Ken, Mark and Virginia for joining me to strum our stuff! It’s not the place for a collection bucket, but the £80.00 gig fee will be enhanced slightly by a small personal donation from one of the residents.
Cheers Trevor

21/3/26 Worcester High Street Belting Buskathon
Hi all,
The Sun had certainly got his hat on yesterday - hip, hip, hip hooray - for our first Buskathon of the year for Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group. I think there were 36 Wuccies in total who played and sang their hearts out at some time during the day, and the great folk of Worcester responded brilliantly. Many passers-by became standers-by as they stopped to listen to our music. And some of the standers became dancers! There was, as usual, some cracking toddler-dancing and some proper show-quality grown-up dancing, as the photos show!
We started singing at 10:30 am and finished at 3:05 pm, with just a 15 minute pause for the afternoon shift to take up their positions. The cash started landing in our buckets even before we had started playing and singing, and it continued even after we’d all finished… and there was a lot of cash… and it was really heavy… and it took two-and-a-half hours to count. The time, talent and effort put into the day by everyone was made most worthwhile, though, by the amazing total of £854.71. Wow! Huge thanks and congratulations to everyone who contributed in whatever way to a brilliant outcome. Roll on the next one!
Cheers
Trevor
PS With the £149.34 gig fee and collection from the St Paul’s gig on Thursday 19th, we’ve put £1004.05. Into the WOCSG fund in just a couple of days!

Hi WUCcies, And a big thank you from me to all who played and sang their socks off, led the songs, or rattled collection buckets in aid of WPCSG at this Saturday's WUC High Street Buskathon. Some additional pics are attached. Also a special thankyou to Trev for handling all the background admin, posters, busking licence, and physically counting the heavy weight of monies raised.
When I originally nominated WPCSG as WUC charity of the year (and succeeded on second attempt this year), I hoped that it might capture the public mood - but I didn't expect it to do so as quickly and with as much public enthusiasm as it evidently has. On the day it was clear how many people have been affected by prostate cancer either themselves or knew of someone else that had, or who took away information leaflets to find out more, or just wanted to contribute by donating - even before we'd started playing! Thanks again for your ongoing support,
Cheers, Peter G

19/3/26 St Paul's Church, Friendship and Club Lunch
Hi Everyone, Thank you to everyone who played (and sang) at St Paul’s this lunchtime. We had many happy and positive responses from the audience for our performance, so well done all. In the photos you can see a screen and today for the first time (Innovative Wuccies!) we had the words of the songs displayed which helped our audience to sing along with even more impact than usual. One of them, Maggie, came up and ‘pinched’ our bucket whilst I was talking about WPCSG and did a marvellous job, collecting £74.34 to add to our fee of £75 (£149.34). As can also see below we had the new club banner on display and two ‘super models’ to show it at its best!

12/3/26 Perdiswell Mature Club
Hi Everyone,
What a fun filled blast we had today. The terrific twelve played with enthusiasm and a super-duper attitude! The audience responded very well indeed, gave us excellent feedback and we all went away happy. The fee of £75 will be paid by BACS. They also responded well to our chat about WPCSG and then they collected £70.12 for us, making £140.12 in all! Praise to percussion monitor Nick (Head Boy as Jean crowned him), the two international travellers (from Bromyard!) who came so far, Ian for boosting the ranks and the rest of the lovely people below without whom …..!

4/3/26 Pershore Volunteers Lunch Club
Hi Everyone,
Another report from 'WUC on the Road’. This time we were in Pershore at the St Andrews Centre where the volunteers put on a splendid lunch. A big thank you to the potent players seen below. There was a pleasing response to our mini-talk about our charity. The subject seems to touch a nerve with many and generate a positive response, including one of the audience grabbing the bucket and taking it round. We came away with a fee of £75 and our unofficial ‘bucketeer’ collected £50 so £125 plus nice comments about our collection of ‘classic’ songs!
Regards

28/2/26 Colwall Food Bank
Hi all,
Last night we had a good time at the Folk/Jazz concert put on by Geoff and Mary Rowswell at the Park Hotel Colwall in aid of the Malvern food bank. We followed Set 'em up Joe (Banjo, guitar, accordion and vocals), Hedgehog (guitar, recorder, accordion) and blue notes jazz (sax and keyboard), who were terrific and a hard act to follow........but we did.... and in the words of Ian Drury, we were "very good indeed". The audience were very engaged and sang and clapped along to our folksy songs. The evening made about £600 for the Malvern foodbank so we did a quarter of this if you want to look at it that way! Thanks again to all in the band. You were great. Allan. ps. photo courtesy of Peter G's camera....
thanks
Pete.

28/2/26 Brenda's Birthday Party - Graeme Hick Suite, New Road
Hi Everyone
We played today in the Graeme Hick Suite for Brenda’s 70th Birthday party, 4pm-5pm. We know Brenda from St Paul’s. I am happy to say that because all of those playing played and sang so magnificently that many of the party goers were soon singing and dancing and this carried on throughout. There was praise at the end from many, most importantly the lady behind the bar thought we were great. So ‘enhance WUC reputation' - tick! WPCSG certainly resonated well with audience when we spoke about it. Brenda and husband Des were so pleased with our part in the party that they gave us £80 fee in stead of £75. They also passed around a tissue box (!) near the end and £82.95 was collected for WPCSG. £160.95 in total. Well done again all of those below and John Madden for hiding behind Brian.

16/2/26 Post Valentines Day - School Gardens Stourport
Hi Everyone
A quick thank you to the players who joined together in Stourport on Monday afternoon. Always a great welcome and an enthusiastic crowd who joined in the music with singing and percussion. We focused on a Valentine's theme so Cliff met Elvis and all sorts, including McFly. ‘All About You' probably got the best applause of the gig! Our new club giant poster was on display and just to get an idea of the size there is a second picture below with two passing ‘models’ to help you judge! We came away with £102 for our charity and an invite to come back soon. All in a very pleasing gig, well done all.

13/2/26 Spectrum Days
Friday 13th it may well have been, but we thought ourselves very lucky to be invited along by our old friends at Spectrum Days to help them celebrate - one day early - Valentines Day. We were made most welcome, as usual, and we had a great time playing and singing the luvviest-duvviest songs we could find, which inspired some natty dancing from the members. The joy levels increased after about 20 minutes, when we were joined by Jim. He took his place, front and centre, counting in and joining in with the rest of our songs. This was a ‘pro bono’ gig, with no fee, but those of us who went were certainly uplifted by the experience. Many thanks to Spectrum Days for inviting us, and many thanks to the 11 Wuccies who made it a great morning.
Cheers Trevor

26/1/26 St Stephen's Care Home, Barbourne
Hi all,
A small but almost perfectly formed group of 7 Wuccies arrived at 1:30 to help the residents celebrate - a tad belatedly - Burns Night. You can see from the photo that some of us dressed for the occasion, with 1st going to John Ma. (Incidentally, it wasn’t a real kilt he was wearing! It was a bath towel! .)
We’d printed off song books for the audience, and distributed all the percussion we could muster, and we had a grand old time singing a selection of just about every song we know. Also, in honour of Burns, we sang about a Fireball (XL5). As it was also Australia Day that day, we did a rather short selection of the only Australian song we could find: Waltzing Matilda, which - strangely - is in 4/4 time!
We all had a good sing-along, finishing with a request from the audience for Delilah! We were happy to oblige!
Many thanks to the 7 McWuccies who played and sang so well and who made the gig such fun. It was also the first outing for one of the two new roll-up banners! A gig fee of £75 is on its way to the Club account!
Cheers

15/1/26 Ken's 70th Birthday - Droitwich Spa Bowling Club
Hi Everyone
A nice gig this evening at Droitwich Spa Bowling Club to celebrate Ken’s 70th Birthday.
Sorry, not photo but the band of nine (Joan, Barbara, David, Allan, Brian, Maureen, John aka Jig, Ian, Colin) did WUC proud.
The gig fee was £120 and it didn’t seem appropriate to take a collection bucket. However, an enthusiastic willing donor approached Joan which resulted in £88.20 being collected in Joan’s hat. So in total £208.20 was raised for WCSPG.
Thanks to all of tonight’s band - you were brill. I especially liked ‘Be My Baby’ which sounded brilliant.

15/1/26 Two In One Club - Perdiswell
Yet again, we had a great time with the crew at Two in One Club at lunchtime today. As always, they were ready to go and were up and dancing from the start.
Colin and I shared the announcing and our team played brilliantly as they always do.
A big thank you to Brian on drums for keeping us on tempo.
We were a bit concerned that John He would not be there as we have come to rely on his twiddle bits, but the band broke out their kazoos and blasted their way through the instrumentals with great aplomb, well done you blowers.
Another good gig at the start of the year, let’s hope they are all as much fun.
Sorry, no photo, we didn't think about it until we were packing away.
See you at the next one,
Colin TY and John Hick

10/1/26 Sylvia's Birthday Party
Hi Everyone
I know that gig reports can be a long and winding road on occasions so I am sending what the booker has sent me.
Wow! Sylvia has been a fan for a while but I think the band gained some more fans yesterday. Exceeded my expectations. You got everybody in the room going and made the party for us, thank you. You will see that I rounded up our donation to £100. in appreciation. I have looked up your Gig schedule and may be giving you a wave when we get along.
Richard
It was lovely to get our charity support off to a really good start so soon in the new year and share it with a really great bunch of entertainers. There was also £95.74 in the bucket so all round quite a result for Worcester Prostate Cancer Support Group (WPCSG).
Regards
