Unfortunately, this is as far as things went in 2020 due to Covid 19... Hope to see you next year!
11/03/20 Storer Court Lunch Club
A stirling performance today from a solid band who played and sang with gusto. The backing vocals and fill-ins were also superb! Despite the audience being a bit thin due to various commitments elsewhere (not because of the virus I was assured!), they joined in well with singing along to the songs and one or two even got up and danced! Thanks to all of you and especially Mark for playing bass for us and those players who packed up all the gear while I was drinking coffee!! A good little gig and we will definitely be back there again judging by the comments we had at the end.... Cheers all...…. Rob
07/03/20 Retirement Roadshow Gig - Guildhall Worcester
Many thanks to all who played at the retirement roadshow at the Guildhall today. The organisers said that the attendance was much lower than in previous years. This was probably because potential attendees were trying to prolong their retirements by not catching Covid 19. We sang and played well and those that watched and listened enjoyed the show. We had some nice comments. Thanks to Trev for co-leading and to Mark for playing bass which really helps with a large band. Best wishes, Allan.
06/03/20 Areley House Care Home
Many thanks the 7 other Wuccies who joined me at Areley House Care Home in Stourport this afternoon for the latest in a series of gigs we have played there over the last couple of years. Although we were relatively few in number, we played enthusiastically and well and had a receptive audience, many of whom joined in with the singing. We sang for just over an hour, and we had a lovely thank-you speech from one of the residents at the end. I’m off to watch Worcester Warriors play Northampton Saints now. I hope I enjoy this evening as much as I enjoyed this afternoon, but I fear the joy of the day may have already peaked! Trevor
27/02/20 Meadow Court gig
Well despite the floods and transport difficulties, WUC Giggers showed their mettle and turned out in force for a return visit to Meadow Ct. tonight. We gave them a great performance with some added banter from various members and a well tried story from Trev to introduce the 'Sheep' song.....will we ever find another...??? To cap it all, on top of our gig fee we received a further £73 in donations towards our charity. A great gig with a very receptive audience and superb playing and singing from everyone.....we even started and finished a few songs on time..... apologies for slowing down the ending on the one I can't remember now...doh!! Thanks to all of you for a great effort.... Rob
24/02/20 Court House Care Home
Many thanks to the band who put in a fine performance at Court House today. This was the "n"th time we have played there where is a very large number! We had an appreciative audience who sang along and applauded enthusiastically. Thanks to John for his excellent bass playing and to everyone else for singing and playing well and in time. This time the gig was in honour of George's birthday and the next time we play there it'll be St George's Day.......I feel "winders" coming on! (Sorry). Allan.
13/02/20 St Pauls Church Friendship and Lunch
Hi all, Well done to everyone who played at St Paul’s Church today, and especially to those who ‘broke their duck’ (other euphemisms are available!) as far as gigging goes. The venue posed its usual challenges with regard to acoustics and the left hand side of the band being able to hear what the right hand side is doing, but we sang and played well and kept it all together creditably well. The audience obviously enjoyed what we did and they sang along with us from their booklets. The gig fee was £75 and there was £69.42 in the collection bucket, meaning that Alzheimer’s Research UK are now better off to the tune of £144.92. Onwards and upwards! Cheers, Trevor
05/02/20 Kempsey Thursday Club... on a Wednesday! Kempsey Village Hall
Hi All, so there was some confusion about Muzodo telling us we were playing at a (non-existent) “Kempsey Thursday Club”… on a Wednesday!… and some confusion about where exactly Kempsey Village Hall is… but we all arrived at the right place and at the right time and played very well indeed, I thought, to a receptive and enthusiastic audience from the Kempsey Cornflower (not to be confused with cornflour!) Club. Many thanks to all who took part, whether on uke or on bass. And many thanks to the audience, who sang along with gusto from the songsheets and who enthusiastically shook and rattled their shakers and rattles.
Sally, the organiser, was impressed with our performance, and went round with the ARUK bucket, which yielded £33.62. All in all, a successful and enjoyable afternoon! Cheers, Trevor

12/01/20 Swan Inn, Barbourne
Well the first gig of the year was certainly different. We turned up at the Swan only to be greeted by 2 large TV screens showing football and a dozen or so people watching intently. We slipped in almost unnoticed and set up behind them, hoping for some punters to turn up who were less passionate about the beautiful game. Sadly this wasn't to be and those who had promised the landlady to turn up didn't materialise. We were due to begin at 5pm but half time was looming at 5.15 so we waited until then to strike up. At the end of the first song we had some polite clapping from the landlord and a couple of others but most of the audience didn't even turn around and remained staring intently at the half time analysis, trying to lipread what was being said as the TV sound had been turned down. Nevertheless, we soldiered on and gained a little more response at times but it never looked like we were going to conquer them, so the only thing to do was enjoy ourselves, play each song with gusto and make each other laugh with jokes and banter. Sadly, this venue does not look like it will work as a music venue, it is very much a sport pub. My feeling is that if there was no sport on, there would be no crowd. Hey ho, we gave it our best shot. Despite this, the band played excellently, we even tried playing 2 different songs at once but had to stop as it was confusing the heck out of us . A big thank you to all who played, in particular to Tom for stepping in at the last minute and to Eirlys for her pre gig organising and keeping things together on the other end of the row. Onwards and upwards, see you all soon, John
P.S. We managed to collect £7.85 which was more than I was expecting - every little helps.
