16/12/19 The numbers are in... WUC Raise £11,092.65 For Parkinsons UK!
A very special Monday WUC last night, when Allan presented representatives of Parkinsons UK Worcester Branch (our last year's charity) with a cheque for £11,092.65.....
3/12/19 Thanks From Parkinsons
This has been an astonishing year for us and I can't thank you enough . This will enable to us to expand our services such as exercise clubs to assist those who are affected by Parkinsons. We currently run 4 exercise clubs , a choir, 5 friendship groups ( social gatherings and trips out ) and offer small financial assistance to a number of people who participate in Conductive education , Speech and language therapy and hydrotherapy treatments. We couldn't do this without the generosity of people like yourselves. Thank you, Brian
15/11/19 WUC on TV for Children In Need
What a brilliant night 6 members of Worcester Ukulele had at the Children in Need event with the BBC in the Midlands. We entertained other participants with a couple of songs before the show and then did a turn for the live show. It was such fun, full of enthusiastic people all there to support Children in Need, uplifting and memorable!

"Ken kindly took the last lot of money (from the Clarence Park gig) in and the total is, according to Radio Hereford &Worcester and their counting machine,
£1,817😳! Give yourselves a pat on the back😊"

26/10/19 WUC Raise £10,000+ For Parkinsons UK!
A GIANT cheque for £10,000+ has been presented to Worcester and District Branch of Parkinson’s UK by city Mayor, Coun Allah Ditta.
The money was raised by Worcester Ukulele Club in less 12 months – and was presented to members of the Parkinson’s branch in Crowngate shopping centre on Saturday, while almost 40 members of the club took turns in a marathon four-hour gig.
To keep the Wuccies warm on a cold, wet, day staff from Bill’s Restaurant in Crowngate took the players a welcome cup of tea or coffee and members of the Parkinson’s branch collected money given by shoppers and onlookers.
Since the club voted to raise money for people with Parkinson’s and their families in Worcester, Malvern, Pershore, Evesham, Droitwich and Wyre Forest last Christmas, ukers have strummed and sung their way through more than 100 gigs at various venues. The £10,000 is the most that WUC has raised for a charity in one year.
