Beginners Workshop 31/8/13. When we were approached by Worcester Music Festival to run a beginners uke workshop nobody would have believed it would have been so popular.
Here is the merry band of uke club members and ukulele novices after a hard mornings strumming. Everybody was amazing.

One of our club members (who obviously has too much time on his hands) fed Songbooks 1 and 2 into Wordle (www.wordle.net) and came up with this striking "word cloud" - I'm not sure what it says about us except confirming we are big fans of G7 (and other easy chords). Notice that there isn't a "E" in sight.
Would look great on a T-shirt.

We had a great time this morning with the staff and children of Wyche School in Malvern showing them the different types of ukuleles that are available and having a bit of a sing along. We spent a couple of hours in Music 47 this morning, playing and offering advice to anyone who was new to ukulele playing - I think we took the shop over and surpised a few people. Thanks to everyone who came along and expressed an interest in what we were doing and special thanks to Jerry and the staff at Music 47 for making us so welcome and putting up with the disruption.
If you didn't make it and fancy a strum with like minded people we still meet in the Lamb and Flag on a Monday at 7.30 and also see below for our free beginners evening.

We'll be around and about at Music 47 in Worcester between 10am and 12pm on the 2nd Feb to help with all things ukulele, setting up, tuning, a few basic chords - if we get enough people all at once we might even try a mass sing along.
There is no fixed programme - drop in and ask away.
