There is a cost for the app (see here: 'Songbook').
If you want to have a go, use the steps listed below (also you can click here for screenshots which accompany the steps):
- Purchase and install the app
- Create a google account. To do that go here:
https://accounts.google.com/signup
- ...if you already have a google account, this step isn't necessary and you can use your existing account in the steps below instead
- Add the shared Songbook folder to your google drive. Here’s a link to the Songbook folder:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lKPkuVGjKmfQrUPr-ZB4zb1EcJIaEOxI
- ...follow the link, then click the 'Shared with me / SongBook' dropdown and select 'Add to My Drive'. The 'SongBook' folder will now viewable from the root of your google drive folder.
- Configure the SongBook app to use your google drive. Run the Songbook app. Go to Settings and scroll down to the Song Sync Section. Select Link Google Drive. When given the option, select 'Sync now'. The first sync may take a while as you will be downloading nearly 3,000 song files (400 of which are WUC song files).
- Post sync activity. After the sync has been completed we suggest you initially return to ‘All Songs’ and take a look at a few WUC song sheets. There is a category (aka folder) of files called '05 Help and SongTemplates' and that contains further help / guidance on using Songbook. In future you'll also want to:
- View Playlists (aka weekly songlists)
- Re-sync to pick up new songs and songlist
- Familiarise in general... Note: For reassurance of those new to the app... using SongBook it is possible to remove or edit songs and songlists - the app won't complain. However, file removal and editing is only a local activity... all shared google drive folders are configured for read-only access by default, so everything can be re-set simply by re-syncing - all removed files or playlists will be restored.
